DECA’s Holiday Helping Hands Telethon was a huge success!

The telethon was broadcast live on Ch. 20, OCSTV, on Dec. 3 at 7 pm.  The MC’s were senior and junior DECA members:  Pete Hottum, Rigdzin Drolma, Angie Cross, Zac Kelder and Sarah Corwin.  DECA Co-presidents:  Tyler Barringer and Zack Doyle introduced the program and helped organize the event with Evan Wolf, Chairperson.   Phones were manned by DECA students:  Danielle Barringer and Peter Vesely.  Leah Reed, Rachel Castelano, Katie Epstein, Alex Vroman, Nick Smith were part of the stage crew along with Taylor Armstron (aka Santa) and Ian Jamison who also ran the back camera.

Performers included:  Elementary Strings under the direction of Gina Gilbert, Elementary Jazz Band and Chorus under the direction of Harvey Boyer; Senior High School groups included:  Chamber Ensemble, Erica Boyer; Sounds of Jazz, Krista Cayea and Jazz Band, Steve Murphy; Dylan Nelsen-Epstein performed a comical magic act with audience participation, Julian Kwan played the piano; our own middle school teacher, Bill Melvin and daughter Sara, played the guitar, harmonica and sang; Senior skit:  Steve and Tom Burchfield, Kris Hallinan, Margaret Price and Liselle Peres-Rogers.
