English teacher Elaine Conroy serves as the teacher coordinator for the event and OTA retirees Carol La Monda and Dr. Bill Birns served as judges for the second year. They were joined by 2010 Onteora graduate, and one of last year’s school winners, Elisha Slovensky who is now attending SUNY Ulster. English teacher J.D. Louis emceed the event while colleague Betsy Deak cued students and judged accuracy.
Elaine Conroy will accompany school finalists Sophie Strand, Kealey Viglielmo and Adi Baum to the regional competition in Oneonta on Saturday, February 5th.
