A Day in NYC with German Exchange Students

It had rained the night before and thick clouds hung over Manhattan as we arrived for our hazy 10:15 tour of the Top of the Rock. At the ticket counter, they told us there was currently zero view from the top of the building.  We quickly shifted our plan and gave the students two hours free time.

When we took the elevator to the 77th floor at noon, the clouds were lifting so you could almost see the top of the EmpireStateBuilding to the south and Central Park to the north. OK. It was not the ideal day for a view from a sky scraper, but the students got an idea of how high we were and enjoyed the idea of being on top of New York City.

Thanks OTA for your generous grant. It really helped to offset the $825 bill to a more reasonable amount, which we were able to raise through German Club.
