The OTA is collecting new and gently used books in each building to be given out to the public at key events.  All books will be imprinted with a book plate message that reads:  A gift for you from Onteora Teachers Association. 

Over the summer the TC2DN (Teacher Center 2 Dissemination Network) realized that more people were needed to help share information offered by the technology committee. The MHTC is now looking for one person per district statewide to join the committee and become familiar with MHTC technology partnerships.  This committee does not meet but will have trainings on-line. (approx 20 hours, with possible hours or stipend through MLP).  Let’s not be one of the unrepresented districts. Thank you to those who have already donated coats. This year, OCS DECA has received 62 requests from families in our district that cannot afford winter coats for their children. We have been able to fill 24 of these requests and are still in need of 38 coats. In addition, there are many high school students we know are in need of coats not included on this list.

Please consider helping just one Onteora student by donating a new or gently used coat. We will also accept monetary donations in any amount to be used to purchase coats (checks to OCS DECA). In the past we have been able to purchase

Phoenicia Elementary artists have been working diligently for many months to complete two school-wide art projects that connect to classroom curriculum.  Inspired by the local Leaping Trout Art Project and other community based art “themes” around the country, we dove into making trout themed art.  First and second grade students raised trout in the classroom from eggs to small fingerlings.  These were released into local waters on May 15^th.
