Danielle Barringer captures 2nd place at the International DECA Career Conference

Onteora DECA senior, Danielle Barringer, accompanied by OCS DECA Advisor, J. Douglas returned from Ananheim, CA, with heavier luggage. . . . a large trophy!   Danielle competed in the Professional Selling Event at the NY DECA state level in March where she placed 1st.

On April 24, 2013, she took off to compete at the International level with over 16,000 students in attendance.  Danielle earned four medals and the second place trophy.   She was a top finalist in PS written exam, presentation and overall finalist.  She then qualified for the final round where she placed 2nd internationally.

The Professional selling event topic for the 2013 competition was to plan a sales campaign for selling mountain bike tires to a bicycle manufacturer.  Danielle had to take a written exam, design the promotional presentation along with promotional materials, display boards, pricing and contract strategies, trade mark and business cards, and an oral presentation to four national judges.

This is the first time in 14 years that Onteora DECA has place at the International Competition.  Danielle was one of only four winners from New York State DECA.
